Beulah partnered with New York Cares and Hope World Wide to give much needed coats and other winter accessories to those in need. Beulah recieved donations of 40 men's coats, 40 women's coats and 40 children's coat of various sizes as well as aditional donations from neighbors. In the wake of the event, Hope World Wide volunteers canvased the neighbor including the near by shelters to spread the word about the up coming coat giveaway.
On January 21st the door opened to serve the public. People were greeted with refreshments and seated in the lounge. When it was their turn to select a coat they were assisted by a friendly volunteer from Hopeworld wide who acted as any good sales representative would; providing feedback, sharing the vast options, helping select the best choice and even helping people dress. Particpants even included whole families!
Everyone who came was able to leave with something for themself or someone they care about. This was Beulah's second year participating in a coat drive. It was revitalizing and encouraging experience and Beulah looks forward to doing it next year!
